When it comes to shopping and creating a shop, it's all about how you work it.  There are smart and tricky ways to get what you want for a good price OR to sell what you want and make a profit.

Creating A Shop
When you first join Neopets you have the choice of making ONE shop.  When you first open one it costs 150NP.  That gives you a shop Size 1.  That will only hole 5 items but usually, Newbies (which is about your age when opening a shop) only has a couple neopoints, so it works.  If though, you want more than 5, click the Upgrade button at the bottom of the Create/Edit A Shop page.  Each time you upgrade, you get 5 more spaces to stock items and the cost goes up each time too, I think doubling each time.

Stocking A Shop
Well, this is MY trick.
Search for an item, any item, in the shop wizard.  Refresh a couple of times to see different people with the same items and if they're cheaper.  Sometimes you find a steal and need to hurry to find it.  Other times, they're all around the same price and your good.  Well then I put it in my shop.  I search the wizard again for the same item and see the average prices now.  I price mine about 5-10NP under theirs and sell.  Normally, my shop sells out.

You're probably wondering, but I'm losing NP.  You're not.  In the long run, those few items you stock for 5NP less than the wizard will get people to come in a buy items you have maybe 20 or 30NP higher than the wiz, but they won't know it!  It's all a matter of how you run your buissness.

Now don't price Bottled Faeries for 5NP and cheat yourself.  OR don't price items 300, 400, 2,000NP more than the Wiz either.

Never ever rely on the Estimated Value in the information pop up when you click on an item.  It's always off.  It usually too low a value or too high of a value.  To get accurate selling prices, use the wiz.  Don't price items that are only worth 100NP for 1,000NP, they won't sell.  Well maybe to some poor Newbie who doesn't know the difference, but that's not fair.  If you're looking to sell items, price WISELY!

Buying Items
Like I said, shop around.  Check the wiz a couple times, trades, auctions, and the shop boards.  You can even make deals with people and get a great item at a low price.  Never buy something from a shop without knowing if they're is a better deal, unless you're for sure this is a once in a lifetime thing.  You could get jipped.

Now I'm not a total dork! I have Original HUT Graphics!
